General Purpose: The Manager Human Resources is expected to provide effective support to all levels of management and employees in addressing operational, tactical and strategic Human Resources issues.

Work Schedule: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities & Duties
• Provide counsel to all managers on human resource matters as they relate to recruitment, human resource planning, orientation, compensation, performance management, benefits, career planning and termination
• Provide advice and counsel to management and employees to support the consistent and fair application of company policies, procedures and practices
• Define and deliver a recruitment strategy that addresses current and future needs of the business with the objective of increasing overall organizational capability and effectiveness
• Interview job applicants to obtain information on work history, training, education, or job skills
• Perform searches for qualified job candidates, using sources such as computer databases, networking, Internet recruiting resources, media advertisements, job fairs, recruiting firms, or employee referrals
• Advise management on organizing, preparing, or implementing recruiting or retention programs including community events
• Coordinate contract terms (MSA's) with outside staffing agencies to secure temporary employees, based on departmental needs
• Ensure maintenance of Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
• Drive talent management initiatives such as succession planning, training and development and high potential identification and development
• Provide leaders with assistance and best practice information to maintain and improve morale and enhance positive employee relations
• Design and develop creative and innovative human resource programs that support the business objectives of the company eg. Interviewing skills, performance management, coaching and counselling
• Manage and administer Lauren Concise annual performance review cycle for employee's and contractors
• Coordinate and complete selected industry salary survey's (IAT, ASET, APEGA) to ensure the company has market data for all positions
• Analyze salary survey results and provide management with competitive assessment of their employees and recommend base salary adjustments
• Maintain positive employee relations through personal dialogue and conflict resolution techniques
• Manage termination process to minimize legal impact and maximize the successful departure experience for employees and their managers. Counsel managers on how to deliver the message and participate as required
• Serve as a link between Corporate Human Resources and Lauren Concise by handling HR related questions, interpreting and explaining human resource policies, and helping to resolve employee relations issues
• Professionally represent the Company and network with other HR professionals
• Keep abreast through professional contacts of new developments in HR areas eg. Employment Law, Compensation and Benefits
• Work within company policy as outlined in the Lauren Services Employee Handbook and in compliment with the LC Human Resources Policy Manual, LC Safety Manual and OHS Safety rules
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Education
• Bachelor's degree in business management and/or human resources management
• CHRP designation is preferred

Required Experience
• 10+ years of general Human Resource experience
• HR generalist experience with an EPC or construction company is preferred

• Thorough knowledge of employment legislation
• A positive, "can-do" attitude and people focused approach
• Proven ability to handle challenging situations with integrity, empathy and sincerity
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Intermediate MS Office skills (specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
• Read, write and communicate using English language sufficient to perform job functions (other preferences will be given for special language skills where there is a business need)
